FLAC—Ontrack—(U6) - Girls & Boys Details for season 2009—2010.
How do I know what age group I am?
When you join your child will be placed in the correct age group. Should you wish to check you can download the Age Group Ready Reckoner.
How many children are in the Age group? Last year’s U6 age group, there where x 48 Athletes.
Who runs the Ontrack program? FLAC appoints an Ontrack co-ordinator & Ontrack assistant to manage, coach & teach the (U6) Age group for the season. Please note: We are always looking for willing parent’s / helper’s who would like to assist during the Ontrack program during the Saturday competition. If you are willing to assist, or just help out on the Saturday, please select this link & pass on your personal details onto the FLAC - Ontrack co-ordinator.
How much does Little Athletics Cost? Season registration costs vary between each club, however the first child in the family will be around $95, subsequent family members are entitled to a discount. Child # 1 = $95 Child # 2 = $180 Child # 3 = $250 Child # 4 = $310 Child # 5 = $360 Additionally each athlete will need to purchase a uniform from the club they join. Costs vary but are usually around $35. Your child will also need a pair of runners.
Registration Day / Trial Day. 12th September 2009 from 9am to 11am. We encourage kids to have a practice on this day so dress appropriately. Proof of age is required for all new athletes.
Which club do I join?.
Frankston Little Athletics consists of six clubs around the Frankston area.
Individual athletes must be registered with one of the clubs. Although many clubs are school sponsored it is your choice as to which club you join.

Aldercourt - Purple T-Shirt with White Stripe / Black shorts. Ballam Park - Red T-Shirt / Royal blue Shorts. Derinya - Blue T– Shirt with Yellow Stripe & Navy shorts. Frankston Heights - Yellow T-Shirt with Red stripe & Red shorts. Langwarrin - White T-Shirt & Royal Blue shorts. St. Johns/Frankston East - Maroon T-Shirt & White shorts.

What is the timetable for First week? 8.30am - Ontrack co-ordinator & Ontrack assistant setup the equipment. 8.45am - Parents & Athletes arrive at Ballam Park Track. 9.00am - Meet the parents at designated spot. (Orange Flag). 9.15am - Take kids & parents over to Ontrack area. 9.20am - Split kids into groups & commence activities. 10.00am - Finish 1st Session plan. Have 5 minute break. 10.05am - Commence 2nd Session plan, Have parents watch & get involved helping with activities. 10.50am - Finish 2nd Session plan. Take kids & parents to the designated meeting point / spot. (Orange Flag). Ontrack co-ordinator & Ontrack assistant pack up the equipment & return it the FLAC pavilion. Have coffee!
What will we learn? The first six weeks is devoted to very basic motor skills programme which prepares the children for the disciplines of Running, Jumping, Throwing & Leaping. Ie. 50m, 100M Sprints, 60M Hurdles, 400M distance (1 Lap), Long Jump, High Jump, Discus, & Shot Put. The (U6) Age Group - Girls & Boys will join the normal Saturday competition in Week # 7 of the program this will vary depending on the children's skills & abilities. Week# 7, #8, #9 - We will be participating in two events each Saturday. (Week # 7 to 9 may vary depending on the children's skills & abilities). Week #10 to Week #17, we will be participating in three events each Saturday. Week # 18 - End of season, in which we hold the FLAC—Centre Championships & Presentation Day which includes the U6 Age Group.
